According to customs statistics, China's cotton yarn exports showed a significant recovery in the second half of 2026. In August, 25,900 tons of cotton yarn were exported, with a month-on-month growth of 8.56%; in September, the export volume further increased to 30,000 tons, with a month-on-month growth of 15.66% and a year-on-year growth of 4.23%, achieving a consecutive two-month significant growth in comparison. Behind these data lies an encouraging signal indicating the recovery of overseas market demand and the improvement of China's cotton yarn competitiveness.

The growth is not a short-term replenishment, but a sustained demand expansion

From the total perspective, the month-on-month growth rate in September nearly doubled compared to August, indicating that the growth is not an occasional replenishment impulse, but a sustained demand expansion. The year-on-year growth changed from "low-level fluctuation" to "positive growth", which more significantly indicates that China's cotton yarn exports are moving out of the previous low-level range and entering the recovery channel. For cotton spinning enterprises in the middle of the textile industry chain, the marginal improvement in orders is often the most direct leading indicator of recovery.

Orders from Pakistan and Bangladesh have significantly increased, highlighting the demand elasticity

By country, the structural characteristics of growth are very obvious. In September, China exported 620,000 tons of cotton yarn to Pakistan and 40,000 tons to Bangladesh, with a month-on-month increase of 22.35% and 23.77% respectively, ranking among the major markets. These two South Asian countries are important garment manufacturing bases in the world, with large demand elasticity and short order cycles. Their significant increase reflects the recovery of local clothing orders and also confirms the competitive advantages of China's cotton yarn in terms of cost performance and supply stability.

Southeast Asia and Russian ports are strengthening simultaneously, and the pattern continues to improve

In addition to South Asia, other markets have also generally improved. In September, China exported 38,000 tons of cotton yarn to Vietnam, 35,000 tons to Hong Kong, 23,000 tons to Russia, and 18,000 tons to Cambodia, with month-on-month growth of 4.34%, 12.74%, 7.36%, and 20.65% respectively. Vietnam and Cambodia, as important nodes for承接 global clothing industry transfer, have stable and expanding demand; the growth in the Russian market indicates the further diversification of the export market. Overall, except for a month-on-month decrease in exports to Indonesia and Thailand, all major markets showed an upward trend, and "multiple blossoms" became the distinct feature of exports in September.
