According to China's customs data, in 2025, the total import and export volume of wool textile raw materials and products was 16 billion US dollars (equivalent to 114.8 billion RMB), a decrease of 2.0% compared to the previous year. Due to fluctuations in the international situation, the scale was slightly adjusted. 

The total export value of wool textile raw materials and products for the whole year was 12.2 billion US dollars (87.08 billion yuan), showing a slight decrease of 0.9% compared with the previous year. Wool yarn and wool knitted garments achieved good growth. The cumulative export volume of wool yarn was 31,000 tons, increasing by 9.2% year-on-year. The export volume of wool knitted garments for the whole year was 120 million pieces, increasing by 7.9% year-on-year. The rapid growth in exports of wool knitted garments to the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations compensated for the decline in exports to the United States. 

The main destinations for the export of wool textile raw materials and products are mainly the traditional consumer markets of wool textiles and the downstream end of the emerging wool textile industry chain. Among them, the United States remains the most important export market, while the share of the European Union has further increased. 

In 2025, the import volume of raw wool and semi-processed wool was 304,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.8%. Among them, the cumulative import of fat-containing wool was 251,000 tons, a year-on-year decline of 8.9%. The price of wool continued to increase month-on-month in December, with a growth rate of 14.1%.
