From January to November, the overall export of household textiles in our country remained stable, with a slight decline of 1.3%. The total export value reached 30.85 billion US dollars. In November, the export of household textiles was 2.92 billion US dollars, with a year-on-year growth of 0.2%.
The core product has generally slowed down, while the performance of various subcategories varies.
Bedding, carpets, bed mats, kitchen and bathroom textiles, curtains, towels, tablecloths are the main sub-products of our country's home textile exports. From January to November, the exports of towels and tablecloths decreased significantly, while the exports of other main products declined slightly. The export of bedding was 12.93 billion US dollars, down by 3%; the export of carpets was 3.92 billion US dollars, down by 0.8%; the export of bed mats was 3.84 billion US dollars, down by 4.6%; the export of kitchen and bathroom textiles was 2.86 billion US dollars, down by 2.1%; the export of curtains was 2.76 billion US dollars, down by 0.2%; the export of towels was 1.55 billion US dollars, down by 12%; the export of tablecloths was 710 million US dollars, down by 10.5%; and the export of other products was 2.27 billion US dollars, up by 33.1%.
The decline in exports to the United States is due to the accelerated growth of markets outside the US.
From January to November, the top five markets for China's home textile exports were the United States, the European Union, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Japan, and the United Kingdom. Among them, China's exports to the United States reached 9.43 billion US dollars, a decrease of 9.3% compared to the previous year, accounting for 30.6% of China's home textile exports. Exports to the European Union amounted to 4.28 billion US dollars, an increase of 5.9%, accounting for 13.9%. Exports to ASEAN were 2.79 billion US dollars, a decrease of 16.1%, accounting for 9%. Exports to Japan were 2.34 billion US dollars, an increase of 3%, accounting for 7.6%. Exports to the United Kingdom were 1.07 billion US dollars, an increase of 6.7%, accounting for 3.5%. The United Kingdom surpassed Australia to become China's fifth-largest export market.
From January to November, exports to the six member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council in the Middle East amounted to 1.17 billion US dollars, showing a slight decrease of 0.1%. Exports to the five countries of Central Asia reached 1.06 billion US dollars, increasing by 10.7%. Exports to Africa totaled 1.43 billion US dollars, increasing significantly by 28.7%. Exports to Latin America amounted to 2.21 billion US dollars, growing by 12.7%.
In November, China's exports to the United States decreased by 13.8%, continuing to widen from the 12.3% decline in the previous month. Exports to non-US markets increased by 6.8%, among which exports to the European Union rose by 12.3% and exports to Japan increased by 24.2%.
