According to foreign media reports, on March 20 local time, a container ship operated by MSC was sailing in the Atlantic Ocean near Portugal when some of its container cargo fell into the sea.
The vessel involved is the "MSC Houston V" (IMO 9463281), with a container capacity of 4,432 TEU, flying the Portuguese flag, and built in 2010.

The AIS signal of the vessel provided by Ship Vision Treasure, a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Technology, for the focus of the shipping circle shows that the vessel set off from the Port of Piraeus in Greece on March 15th and is heading for Liverpool. During the journey, Storm Martinho swept through the waters near Cape Saint Vincent, causing the ship to encounter severe sea conditions and wind speeds as high as 48 knots.

It is reported that the accident caused at least 15 containers of the "MSC Houston V" to fall into the sea, and many of the remaining containers on the ship also collapsed, with some hanging on the starboard side near the stern.

Subsequently, the vessel sought refuge at the Port of Vigo in Spain, waiting for the storm to pass, and arrived at the port in the morning local time on Friday, March 21.
At present, MSC Houston V is docked at the Termavi container terminal in the Port of Vigo. The port authorities are assessing the situation as well as the condition of the containers and their cargoes.
