According to the latest data released by the General Administration of Customs on July 12, in June, the global economic recovery was uneven, trade barriers in major markets increased, the number of buyers' orders was less than expected, and the year-on-year growth rate of textile and garment exports slowed down. In dollar terms, textile and garment exports rose 2.3 per cent year-on-year in the month.
In the first half of the year, China's cumulative textile and garment exports were 143.18 billion US dollars, an increase of 1.5%, of which textile exports increased by 3.3%, and clothing exports were unchanged from last year. On a monthly basis, exports have stabilised after double-digit growth in January-February and a decline in March, returning to growth year-on-year in May and June. At present, the external situation is complex and severe, overseas demand has not fully recovered, and China's textile and garment exports are still facing greater uncertainty.
