Textile and garment exports continued to face pressure in October due to the tariff game between China and the United States and the reconstruction of the industrial chain. According to the latest statistics from the General Administration of Customs, the export of textile and garment products in October was 22.26 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 12.6%. Among them, textile exports were 11.26 billion US dollars, a decrease of 9.0%, and clothing exports were 11 billion US dollars, a decrease of 16.0%. From January to October, the cumulative export of textiles and garments reached 243.94 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 1.6%. In the last two months of the fourth quarter, driven by the favorable news of the China-Us economic and trade consultations, it is expected that China's exports to the United States will slightly recover, and the export outlook for the whole year is expected to remain stable.
Textile and apparel exports in RMB:
From January to October 2025, the cumulative export of textiles and garments reached 1,749.19 billion yuan, a slight decrease of 0.7% compared with the same period last year (the same below). Among them, the export of textiles was 844.19 billion yuan, an increase of 1.8%, and the export of garments was 905.00 billion yuan, a decrease of 3%.
In October, the export value of textile and apparel was 158.28 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 12.3% and a month-on-month decrease of 9.0%. Among them, the export value of textile products was 80.05 billion yuan, a decrease of 8.8% and a month-on-month decrease of 6.1%, while the export value of apparel was 78.23 billion yuan, a decrease of 15.7% and a month-on-month decrease of 11.8%.
Textile and apparel exports in US dollars:
From January to October 2025, the cumulative export of textiles and garments reached 243.94 billion US dollars, a decrease of 1.6%. Among them, the export of textiles was 117.74 billion US dollars, an increase of 0.9%, while the export of garments was 126.20 billion US dollars, a decrease of 3.8%.
In October, the export of textiles and garments was 22.26 billion US dollars, a decrease of 12.6% and an 8.8% decline compared to the previous month.
